Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors/Books I'm Thankful For.

This is an obviously great topic this week. There are so many authors and books that got me through hard times, made me laugh when I didn't think anything could, and let me cry with them. I'm really excited for this week!

1. J.K. Rowling
I have a strong feeling she is going to be on almost everyone's list. Her books means so much to so many people. They got me through my parents divorced, and introduced me to just how magical the world could be. There are very few people in my generation that aren't thankful for Harry Potter. I love that this book brought so many people together. I will always be forever grateful for J.K. Rowling.

2. Laurell K. Hamilton
Her series, Anita Blake, showed me another world, let me escape wholly into it. It taught me a lot of lessons, especially about being tolerant and how first impressions aren't always correct. Watching Anita grow as a person made me grow as well. This will always be one of my favorite series.

3. Cassandra Clare
I love her. And her books. They have made me laugh, cry, made me so mad I wanted to throw them at the wall... They are wonderful. Just... so wonderful. Beyond thankful for them! AND THE MOVIE IS GOING TO BE SO AWESOME!

4. Katie MacAlister
Katie MacAlister is a wonderful romance author. I have read majority of her books. They are adorable and funny. They have been there when I needed a laugh. Which was a lot!

5. Stephanie Perkins
I love her books! They are so cute! Anna was such a wonderful escape for me, someone who hasn't traveled anywhere at all. I cannot wait to read Isla story! And every single book she ever writes for the rest of her life. She is fantastic!

6. Laurie Faria Stolarz
 I first read one of her books back in middle school, and instantly fell in love with her. Again, I didn't have a particularly happy childhood back in those days. So another magical book showing me a different world was perfect, even if this one did have a bit of a scary twist! Actually, I think these are the books that got me into scary novels! I love them!

7. Neil Gaiman 
Neil Gaiman is just an unbelievable person. His writing just comes alive and sucks you in. I cannot imagine not reading another book by him. He is one of the authors that made me want to be a writer myself! The most thankful for him! 

8. John Green
Again, John Green is just a fantastic human being. He does great things for the world! The world would be a worst place without him and his brother, Hank. His books mean so much to so many people. Myself included.

9. Libba Bray
Libba Bray writes these incredibly unique novels that make you see the world in such a different way.You can't help but fall in love with them and with her. I love escaping into these worlds she created and am so thankful for her creating them!

10. Kim Harrison
Kim Harrison is another author that made me want to become a writer. She writes these beautiful urban fantasies that sucked me in completely. That made me want to do the same for others. Lighting that fire in me is something I will always be thankful for.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I'd Want On A Deserted Island

This week's topic is going to the roughest. I love so many books and would want all of my favorites with me. Especially when it comes to series. I would want to bring every book of the series with me, but I will try my hardest not to cheat. No matter how much I want to!

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

I am so in love with this book. And if I was stuck on a deserted island all by myself, I would definitely need this book to keep me in good spirits.

2. City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
I would have to bring at least one book by Clare, and I chose the one where everyone gets at least a semi happy ending. Before she decided to keep writing more books and continuing to break my heart all the damn time.

3. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
This is my favorite Neil Gaiman book so far. I feel like I could read it a thousand times and never get bored. That's just the sort of books he writes. Love em.

4. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins
Another book where I wouldn't get bored. I could read about the amazing Noah Shaw for the rest of my life. Oh am I on a deserted island? I didn't notice because NOAH SHAW.

5. Imaginary Girls by Nova Rev Suma

Imaginary Girls drew me in so completely that I forgot where I was every time I opened it. I am positive that it would do the same again. This book is a whole new world that dazzle me completely. It would be the perfect escape on an island.

6. Atonement by Ian McEwan
Every time I read this book, the world fades away. And then I want to die. This book would be a book to read when I'm sad and have lost hope to remind me, Hey. It could be worse.

7. Looking For Alaska by John Green
John Green is just amazing. I can't imagine never being able to read one of his books again. Having it there would be a must.

8. Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
This would be such a cute distraction to have. Amy and Roger's is just the cutest book and I could read it again and again.

9. Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton
This will always be my favorite series. Anita Blake has a permanent place in my heart. If I was stuck on an island, I would need her. I could read the beginning of her story every day for the rest of ever. It's a must have.

10. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
For when I'm in more of a serious mood. It's my favorite classic novels and I've never had time to reread it. There are just so many books! But I would be able to give it the time it deserved if I only had ten books to read for the rest of time!

Top Ten Tuesdays: Romances that would make it in the real world

I love this topic. There are definitely some book relationships that would probably fail in the real world. Here’s my list.

1. Anna and St. Clair- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Anna and St. Clair had a very realistic relationship. No insta-love here! They took their time and learned about each other before they got together. And the had to overcome very real obstacles before then too. They would make a great real life romance.

2. Lola and Cricket- Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Cleary, Miss Perkins knows how to write a romance. These two just went together so well and built a good solid foundation before they got together. They knew each other for a long time before they got together. It was perfect.

3. Clary and Jace- Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
JACE AND CLARTY ARE PERFECT. Ahem. I mean. Jace and Clary balance each other out perfectly. They work well together and both would fight to stay together. I think they would have a lot of fights, but it would work. They would make it work. And I think that’s more important than anything else.

4. Belly and Jeremiah- Summer series by Jenny Han
I’m going to start by saying that I haven’t read the last book so I don’t know how it ends. Please don’t tell me! And secondly, in the book I am a Conrad fan all the way. I want him and Belly to be together. But in the real world, I think Jeremiah would work better with her. He makes her life and is more down to earth, no drama there. I think it would balances Belly out, since she is kind of a drama queen…

5. Colin and Lindsay- An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
Colin and Lindsay really built up a great friendship before they started dating, and I think that is crucial in real world relationships. It’s hard to start a romance with no solid background and have it last. They were super adorable and I think they would make a great couple in real life.

6. Tessa and Jem- Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare
First off let me say, TEAM WILL. All the way. But once again, in the real world I think Tessa and Jem would work better together. They have similar mannerism and would work well together. (Though book Tessa belongs with Will. No doubt about it.)

7. Rose and Dimitri- Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead
This is another couple who would do anything to stay together. Whatever obstacle came their way, they’d overcome it. They believe in each other and they love each other. Maybe I am a bit of a romantic, but I think that’s more than an enough to make it in the real world.

8. Katniss and Peeta- The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
Katniss is the exact opposite of Peeta, but in a good way. They round each other out. They are perfect partners. When one of the them was weak, the other was strong. They would definitely make it in the real world.

9. Anita and Micha- Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton
There are a lot of love interest to chose from in Anita Blake, but Micha is the one that would work in the real would. He is the perfect mixture of dominance and submissive that Anita needs. He keeps her sane. I think they would work well together in the real world.

10. Rachel and Kisten- The Hollows series by Kim Harrison
If he wasn’t. Well. You know. Sad.. I just love the two of them. They worked together so well. Oh man. I miss him.

Top Ten Tuesdays: Books I'd Quickly Save If My House Was Going To Be Abducted By Aliens

Bahaha. I love the title of this weeks top ten. But this is going to be an incredibly hard list. I can only save tn books? Every book lovers nightmare! But we will give it a try....

1.  Circus of the Damned by Laurell K. Hamilton
Even though we are now on book twenty in the Anita Blake series, Circus of the Damned remains my favorite. I loved the huge showdown, Anita meeting Richard, being marked for the first time. All of it. If I could only save one book in the series, it would have to be this one.

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
Now this one isn't necessarily my favorite, but it is the one I've read the least amount of times. I want to save it to make sure I could read it again and again. Make sure I absorbed everything in it, if that makes any sense at all...

3. Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
This is an amazing series. I'd really want to save all of them, but I could live with just having the first one. I love the new ones, but I would chose the beginning of the series every time. Kick ass Rachel hunting down some badies as opposed to her being accused of being the badie.

4. Where There's a Witch by Madelyn Alt 
I love all the books in this series, but it this one Maggie FINALLY comes to her senses and starts seeing Marcus! I girl-squealed when they got together. That moment deserves to be saved.

5. Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel
This was the first ARC I ever received and I've grown quite fond of it. I tried to do a giveaway for it, but the first person who won never contacted me. So I picked another person. And never heard from them. My blog was still really new and I got frustrated and gave up. Now I'm kinda glad I did. I like being able to see the first ARC I ever got for review.  Plus, it was an AWESOME story and I can't wait for the second one!

6. May Day by Jess Lourey
This is the only signed book I have, and I'd be sorry if I lost it. I got to talk to the author for like twenty minutes and told her all about my dream of one day being a published author. She was awesome and very encouraging. She wrote me a very sweet message on the inside cover and it would make me sad if the aliens got their hands on it. 

7. Stardust by Neil Gaiman 
This is the first Gaiman book I read. And I fell completely in love with him.
This book is full of adventure, magic, and love. I wouldn't want to lose a book I loved as much as this one.

8. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
While this wasn't my favorite in the series, the ending needs to be kept with me. Katniss was healthy and happy. And married to Peeta. I cried so many happy tears at the end of the series. Love, love.

9. Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead
Much like Mockingjay, I would just want the ending. I'd read it over and over just to be sure Rose and Dimtri were really together, and really happy. They went through hell together and for each other and they deserved their happy ending.

10. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
I couldn't lose this story. It got me through some really hard times in high school and it would break my heart to lose this copy.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Think Would Make Great Book Club Picks

It would be awesome to be a part of a real life book club! I have so many books I would love to discuss with everyone! Here's my Top Ten!

1. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Slash the whole TMI series. This book has caused a lot of debate and would be so fun to discuss with others. I was so mad at the end of this book I threw it at the wall! It would have made a wonderful discussion for a book club.

2. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendra Blake
This book was so creepy and the love story between Anna and Cas was completely unique. I just had a lot to say about this book and would have loved to see what others had to say.

3. Atonement by Ian McEwan
This book was so sad and made me so mad! Some of the parts in this book were hard to stomach. Definitely would cause some great discussions.

4. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
A book about a girl who killed herself, who sent around 13 tapes to people in her life, telling them the part they played in her suicide. A huge tearjerker that is definitely going to have a huge impact on people. It would be great to discuss with people.

5. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
This book was awesome. So I want other people to enjoy the awesomeness that was this book. And talk about it with me. And fall in the with Dimitri with me.

6. Going Bovine by Libba Bray
This book was just so... confusing! And sad. It would be great to see what other people thought.

7. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins
Do I even need to justify this? Trying to figure what was real and what was fake was enough to spin your head. Getting to discuss it with someone along the way would have awesome. And Noah. Noahhhhhh. Just. So. Amazing.

8. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Again. No need to explain. AMAZING BOOK THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ AND TALK ABOUT AND LOVE.

Ahem.

9. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
If you've read this book, you know why I picked this. It's about a young boy whose father died on 9/11. It's a really tough topic and it would be hard to talk about. Which is exactly why it would be great to discuss at a book club.

10. Still Missing by Chevy Stevens
This book takes place between a woman and her therapist after she escapes the man who kidnapped her. It was heart breaking and disturbing and I couldn't put it down.We read this in my online book club and all of us were just shell shocked. It was amazing.

Top Ten Tuesdays: Books I'd Recommend To Someone Who Doesn't Read Vampire Books.

I have some serious issues with a certain vampire book that shall remain namless that turned a lot of people against vampire novels of all kinds. This is my list to show they're still great vampire novels out there everyone should read!

1. Guilty Pleasure (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #1)
I discovered this series when I was about fourteen. Now for those of you who have read these, you know I was probably too young to be reading them. But I don't regret it for a minute. This book is what turned me on to vampires. Some were frightening beyond belief and others were incredibly sexy. Most of them were both. I still love this series so much. Book twenty just came out last year. If you haven't read them. PLEASE DO! See what real vampires look like!!

2. Dead Witch Waking (The Hollows #1)
Rachel Morgan is a kick ass witch, with a living vampire as her partner. This world takes vampires to a whole different level. Living vampires still retain most of their human qualities, but when they vamp out, it's scary as hell. And the undead vampires have no human emotion left at all. Another great vampire novel.

3. A Girl's Guide to Vampires (Dark Ones #1)
Like your vampires with a little bit more a romantic side? That's just fine. I do too! I'd recommend MacAlister's series. She makes vampires seem like plausible romantic interest without taking away from what they really are.

4. Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1)
This series had three different types of vampire and two of them weren't blood thirsty killers. That may turn some people off, but the world is so well constructed that I didn't doubt it for a second. And that's all it really takes when you want to take something classic like vampires and change them. Just do it well. Don't leave gaping plot holes. And there are none to be found in the VA series.

5. Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress #1)
Bones! Bones is one of the best written male vampire love interest that I have ever read. And Cat is half vampire, half human, and totally awesome!

6. The Passage (The Passage #1)
Woah didn't know this was supposed to be a series! Sweet! *Ahem* Anyways. Vampires as a plague created by the government. A plague that wipes out most of the world. How freaking awesome is that? Trust me, no lovey-dovey vampires here. No sir. 

7.  If Angel's Burn (Darkyn  #1)
This is a series that shows the softer side of vampires, but still in a believe way.

8. City of Bones (Mortal Instrustments #1)
Okay. Not a vampire novel. But has vampires in it. Vampires that kill and feed off humans if they are not watched very closely. Vampires who turn unwillingly humans into vampires. Vampires who creeped the hell out of me (one vampire excluded). 

9. Dying Bites (The Bloodhound Files #1)
In this world, humans are pretty much extinct. Vampires and werewolves run the world. The main character even works for a vampire and is hired to solve the murder of werewolves and vampires. I remember still being scared of Jace's boss, even though vampires were an everyday thing in her world. He would go from professional boss, to vamping out in a big way. It was awesome!

10. Magic Bites (Kate Daniels #1)
The vampires in this are freaky. People sign up to become one. There's a waiting list. But when they become one, then person they once were is dead. They retain no higher brain power. Instead, they are piloted by very old and powerful vampires. It's hard to explain, but it was a completely new take on vampires for me and I ate it up. Another fantastic book with vampires!


So there you have it. Ten kick ass vampire novels. Some where vampires are scary beyond belief and some where they are believable love interests. If you've been turned off by vampires lately, turn any of these and I promise it will cure you of it!

Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Wish Would Write Another Book

Hmm. This is going to be a tough one...

1. Neil Gaiman!
I love him so much! I still haven't read all the ones he has written, but I still wish he would write more novels. I know he is doing some graphic novels, but those aren't really for me. I hope he writes another novel ASAP.

2. Stephen Chbosky- author of Perks of Being a Wallflower
As far as I know, that was the only book he's written. And it was completely amazing!!! I still love it years later! Write me another one please!

3. Annette Curtis Klause- author of Blood and Chocolate
Such a great werewolf novel. She has an amazing writing style and I would love to see more books from her.

4. Chevy Stevens
Okay. She just wrote a book last year. So what? I want another one!


And sadly, that's all I got. All the authors I read are still putting out books. Wait.... That's not sad at all :-D

Top Ten Tuesdays! Top Ten Books I Wanna Reread (2)

This is more gonna be top ten series I wanna reread. I don't have many stand alones books that need rereading but I have plenty of series.


1. Harry Potter series!
I don't think I could ever tire of these. I hope to make them an every year reread, but with all the great new stuff it's been hard this year.

2. Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamliton.
There is 20 books in this series so I highly doubt I'll get a chance to any time soon, but she is my favorite adult author and I love both her series.

3. Aisling Grey series by Katie MacAlister
It seems most of these are gonna be adult books. Haha. But I love Katie's book. Aisling is such a hilarious main character

4. Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.
I actually did reread City of Bones and have the audio of City of Ashes. I need a Jace fix!

5. Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
This book is wonderful. Like I don't even have the words to describe it. I would never even attempt to review it because I wouldn't be able to do it justice. I'll have to do a reread before the movie comes out!

6.  Modern Faerie Tale series by Holly Black
Holly Black's are just so good. I loved this series so much. I picked the first one up without knowing anything about it and flew through the series in no time.

7. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
I just finished reading Coraline by him and it made me remember how much I love him. I need to read quite a few of his other ones but this is my favorite so far. I'd love to relive this world all over again.

8. Amy and Rodger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
I fell head over heels for this book. I think rereading this is going to be the only way I make it until next year when her new book, Second Chance Summer, comes out.

9. The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
Do I even need to explain this one?
Peeta. 'Nuff said.

10. The Hollows series by Kim Harrison
I love Kim Harrison's adult series. Her Young Adult is good as well. But I fell in love with Rachel, Ivy, Jinks, and, most of all, Kisten. I need to reread these!
